Here’s a picture of my pops, brother, and me not running the Rockville Rotary Twilight 8K this weekend.
We all trained for it and obviously dressed for it.  We carbo loaded together the night before too.  And we managed to get to Rockville on time, despite For the Love of the Game being on TV, which almost side-tracked us.  We even found an amazing parking spot.
Everything was going great until we were on our way to the start line and realized something was wrong.  Namely, there was no start line.  Also, it seemed that we were the only gym shoe-ed, shorty-short-ed, spandex-ed people in all of Rockville.  A quick Blackberry Google search informed us that we were a week early for the race.
So, instead of running together, we went out to family dinner.  And I’ll tell you this, there’s something very Kobayashi-awesome about wearing work out gear while eating a bacon cheeseburger.  (Listen, I was planning on working for that bacon cheeseburger and even though I didn’t, once my mind is set on bacon, there is no off switch.  I had to.)
So, I guess I’ll see you again on Saturday, Rockville…and spandex capris…and probably another bacon cheeseburger.
