I’m cleaning out my room right now and I’m horrified at my former methods of filing. Now, I’m not currently the neatest or most organized person, but I would never think of labeling an envelop “Important,” shoving two $10 gift certificates to a Brazilian steak house that I won during after-prom 2000 along with the notification from the College Board that the oral section from my AP French exam didn’t record and could not be graded, and then placing said envelop in the envelop section of my stationary drawer not to be found for nine more years.
Instead, I would now label the envelop “Muy and Tres Importante” because that would help my identify the contents as having French and Brazilian ties without having to open the envelop and also differentiate it from the envelop I have similarly filed and marked “Important” with four keys to misc diaries and luggage locks that I no longer have in my possession.
