Shaking hands is a big thing here. Everyone does it to start and end pretty much every interaction. Even the kids on the streets that chant “whitey, whitey” will run up to me to shake my hand. I don’t know if you’ve ever shaken hands with a five year old, but it’s a really weird interaction to have with such a little kid. I constantly feel like I’m running for mayor of the Lollipop Guild.
