Yesterday I went into Arusha, the big town here, to see what it was all about.  It’s pretty great, with an ice cream store, restaurants, pharmacies, and lots of junky crafts that I foresee myself buying a ton of although I did manage to hold back yesterday.  As soon as I got to town, I death marched my new volunteer friend Krystal around, looking for this place that my guidebook said showed English movies.  After about half and hour of searching and tons of sweating, we found it and it turns out that it really showed old English rugby games.  Lonely Planet, I’m shaking my fist in a really menacing fashion at you.
All was not lost though as we found this pizza place kind of close to the non-movie place that cooked up the pizza above.  At first glance, it seemed be just a continuation of the banana and barf menu I’d been fixing for myself at home.  But, it actually turned out to be quite tasty.  Adding to our dining pleasure was an amazing soundtrack.  We started with a little Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias then segued into Mariah followed that with Boys II Men after which came Celine (obvs) and finally wrapped up our meal with Lady in Red.  Awesome, right?  RIGHT?  Anyone else with me?
Here’s one of my favorite parts of Africa…I’m never the person with the worst music taste in the room here.  And that’s a first.
